The spring is here and this means it is a time for me to fill my tax declaration, in Germany known as Steuererklärung.
Last year I used Ubuntu 16.10 and SteuerSparErklärung 2017 (see post “Steuererklärung with Linux (2017)” for details ). This year I use KDE Neon which is based on Ubuntu 16.04 and SteuerSparErklärung 2018.
Using Wine 3 configured as windows 7 I installed the app mostly without problems. But then I failed to import last year data in the application. The import tool was not able to start. I also was not able to open a tax declaration file created using Windows OS.
This year I did not have a lot of time for searching what exactly SXY did not like. I simply gave up to execute on my KDE Neon. This means, to prepare Steuererklarung I still need a Windows – this is sad. But I have one – this is good!
When KDE Neon migrates to Ubuntu 18.04 I will try again. Just to double check.
